These fuels are now available in Nebraska and I am wondering am I able to use them? They are 10 cents cheaper but will is cause more problems in the long run? Do I need to run a special oil? How can I tell if my Ranger is FlexFuel because I know in the instruction booklet thing it talks about only some were so how can I tell if mine is? Thanks for the help.

  1. unless you did the conversion for it to run off ethanol it won't work

  2. I believe a 99ranger should be compatible with ethanol blends.   I'm running E50 in my 85 chevy celebrity.   Just started at the E50 no modifications at all.  I've noticed that the car is quieter, accelerates better especially uphill, has a warm alcohol aroma, and it costs less.  I'm in Michigan.  Check out pictures of my still at www.american-renewable-energies.com on the alcohol page.  Get 'Alcohol Can Be A Gas' through the link to knowledge publications.   Research the web.

Many myths out there about ethanol.   It's an American made fuel not imported from foreign oil rich shieks.   It's cleaner for the environment when burned reducing hazardous emission substantially, and currently costs less than gas.
