I was consedering buying a new truck but it is flex fuel capable and i was wondering if it can run off regular gas or does it have to be e85

  1. Nigel is right. Also you won't get as good gas mileage as with a non E85 engine.


  2. Ethanol is not here to stay, avoid it.

  3. Flex Fuel means that it will run on anything from straight gasoline to 85% Ethanol/15% gasoline. (E85).  The computer senses the oxygen content of the exhaust and the incoming airflow, and has the ability to adjust the amount of fuel injected to compensate for the lower energy density of the ethanol blend.
