does the wrist pronate after the point of contact like a rainwiper on a car using eastern forehand?

  1. you don't need to pronate. eastern forehand is very powerful for flat strokes, so you only need to swing the racquet square-faced to the ball incoming direction, and follow through upward in front of your chest with your arm raised about shoulder level. correct swings will end with your racquet frame pointing upward about 45 degrees. hope it helps :)

  3. If you're hitting a traditional topspin forehand with the eastern grip your hand shouldn't pronate. The racquet face should remain flat through contact and follow through higher to generate topspin.

    The only time it will pronate is if you are taking a ball on the rise chest level. At that point the stroke is more around the body than low to high so the hand naturally pronates.
