if three points on a line are collinear does this make it also coplanar?

there is also a second line intersecting it forming an X

  1. I think your question needs some clarification.

    "Three points on a line are collinear" doesn't make sense, all points on a line are collinear - that's the definition.

  4. Any three points are coplanar.  That's right, any three points in the universe are coplanar, it doesn't matter if they are collinear or not.  However, it takes three non-collinear points to make ONE distinct plane.  

    In other words, three points on the same line are in the same planes, but they are all in infinite planes because the line they are on is also in multiple planes.  

    If three points are non collinear then they make up one and only one plane.  Only ONE distinct plane can go through those three non-collinear points.
