Also, can you list items that you don't currently own as long as you eventually get it and deliver it to the buyer in a timely manner?

  1. yes its illegal to bid on your own sale and no you shouldnt list things that you dont have in your possession at the time

  2. Shill bidding - this is not allowed, it is increasing the bids on your auctions yourself or getting someone you know to do it. They will find out Via IP Address or Account info.

I don't see any problem with selling items you don't own yet. As long as you get the item to them in a timely manner.

  3. It is called shill bidding... Its is dishonest and against ebay rules... You can list whatever you want as long as when the time comes to ship it you actualy have it to ship....

  4. If you bid on your own item, you are bidding up the price, being a shill,  and Ebay will terminate your account. Con artists do this in an effort to get more money, banking on the greed of the other bidders. You can sell something you do not actually have possession of IF you have a signed contract which specifies this, which is called selling "on consignment". You are acting as an agent for the owner to conduct a sale and there is a contract which specifies this is the arrangement. If you do NOT have a legal document in place to act as an agent for the owner, it is called a short sale, which is fraud and Ebay will terminate your account. Con artists sell things they do not own, and THAT, IS a crime... Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Both practices you ask about will get you kicked off Ebay at the least and possibly criminal prosecution for fraud.

  5. if you have two accounts and you use the other one then it's legal but if you use somebody's else's account then it's illegal

  6. it is illegal to bid on your own item.

you shouldn't list something you don't own... what if you don't receive it?

  7. yeah you can why??

  8. Why would you want to do that?

If ebay finds out you are in deep trouble, and rightly so. I am an ebay customer and do not fancy being cheated on by some greedy little pringle like you.

And as to the second part of your question, fortunately there is feedback and if you deliver late and p**s people off you won't be doing business for very long anyway.

  9. yh shill bidding its called.
