EBay confirm identity phone call?

Question

When I try to sell something on eBay, it comes up with "Confirm your identity by phone".

What happens when they call you? Is it automated or is it a real person?

It is an automated call. They give you a code to enter into thier page.

could be just an IVR (Interactive Voice Response). that's a computer generated software in which  you will be able to choices/selections via voice or or telephone keypad. no need to worry. it's not something invasive.
