2000 GMC sonoma 4cyl 5spd 155,000 miles

I was driving the vehicle, all the warning lights came on and it stopped running as if it ran out of gas without warning.

Tank is 3/4 full.

When you crank the engine it sounds good, but wont start.

I cant hear the fuel pump when I turn the key to on.

ITS NOT GETTING FUEL

Every time I crank the engine I blow a (20amp ECM "B") fuse.

B is for battery, I guess.

My multimeter reads about 11volts across the ECM fuse plugs constantly.

What can short out to pop an ECM, everything?

Before I drop the fuel tank and test the pump, is there something else I should do.

ThankYou

  1. pull the fuel pump relay out of the fuse block, prbly the same place as the ecm b fuse.  Then crank the engine and see if it blows the fuse. It's most likely the fuel pump relay, and least likely the ecu.  If it still blows with the relay out, I would check the orange wire for a short. It runs between the ecu b fuse and pin 20 on  the blue connector of the ecu, it your ecu only has two plugs (a blue and a black)

  2. the ecm b fuse is the control for the fuel pump put a fuel pump in it

  3. You may have blown the fuel injector drivers in the ECM....put it on a OBD II scanner
