ECP/SABESP/SP claims Women’s 4*50m freestyle relay gold: Day three – 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy
ECP/SABESP/SP relay squad won the gold medal of Women’s 4*50m freestyle discipline on the third day of the 2011 Jose Finkel Trophy on September 1, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
ECP/SABESP/SP relay team overruled the final of the event and claimed the title in a time of 1 minute and 42.61 seconds. Their effort was only 1.98 seconds behind the national mark of 1 minute and 40.63 seconds, made by ECP/SABESP/SP in 2009.
The gold winning squad was in a lead of 1.18 seconds over their following team, MINAS, which occupied the second position of the event by submitting a time of 1 minute and 43.79 seconds. The third finest spot of the swim was obtained by GNU, which remained
just 0.07 seconds away from the silver medallist and climbed the podium for bronze medal by reporting in a time of 1 minute and 45.16 seconds.
The winning team included Flavia Delaroli-Cazziolato, Carolina Bergamaschi, Flavia B F De Lacerda and Michelle Lenhardt. Delaroli-Cazziolato was the first leg of her team and ended her swim in a time of 25.70 seconds. The race was continued by Bergamaschi,
who completed her race in 25.49 seconds to post 51.19 seconds on the board. De Lacerda was the third swimmer of the relay team, who clocked a time of 1 minute and 17.21 seconds, while Lenhardt continued the swim and ended the four-lap relay event by posting
a time of 1 minute and 42.61 seconds.
In the meantime, the fourth position of the event was obtained by CRF/RJ, who was just 0.35 seconds slower than the bronze medallist and clocked a time of 1 minute and 45.51 seconds. The fourth fastest team was followed by CORINTHIANS/S.BERNARDO, which stayed
just 2.82 seconds behind their foregoing finisher and reported a time of 1 minute and 48.33 seconds.
Meanwhile, the sixth spot of the race was secured by PRAIA CLUBE team, which failed to overcome the efforts of their earlier finishers with a margin of only 0.15 seconds. PRAIA CLUBE ended their swim in a time of 1 minute and 48.48 seconds for sixth position.
They were traced by CURITIBANO, which occupied seventh position of the race with a timing of 1 minute and 48.80 seconds. The last position of the event was secured by UNISANTA, whose swimmers ended their swim in a slowest time of 1 minute and 48.93 seconds.
The arena enjoyed the phenomenal efforts of all participating teams, whereas, the winning squads were invited on the medal rostrum for their invincible efforts in the freestyle relay after the session’s completion.
