ECR Deletion from Passport?

Hi

Can any one tell usually how long the passport office (Chennai) will take to cancel ECR to make my wife passport with ECNR. Also can you please send me the link to download the necessary Miscellaneous passport form? (Unfortunately I was unsuccessful to find in Internet)

you could not findthe form as ECNR is not mandatory any more. there is no need to get ecr/ecnr stamp at all as this provision has been done away with . no ecr/ecnr stamp is now required effective oct 01.2007
