im writting an essay on how edward scissorhands is more a film about our society than about edward himself.

any ideas, examples of how i should start my essay of. or even a discussion if what u personally think.

Once you know what your paper is about you should start of by explaining what you think it's about

then write about all the proof that backs up your clam

then wrap it up.

I guess there is a reflection on our society that someone can be liked for being different but at the same time it is easy to get people to fear the same person because of the thing(s) that makes them different.

Edward was an incredible person, but society only focused on what if's and potential danger. they couldn't see past his scissor hands. The people in the movie used Edward as a scapegoat, and a punching bag, because that was easier than minding their own, and improving on their own faults.

First of all that is the most amazing essay topic.

Second write about society rejecting anything that is foreign or unknown.  you could also discuss how if a person in the position of power feels a certain way so will the other memebers of society.  once one person felt Edward was dangerous everyine else did too.
