EDited DVD has glitches.

Question

My friend edited footage from a theatre show. The original footage had a glitch on the right side of the screen from not fast forwarding the blank mini cd tape before filming (to remove any sticking). My question is, is there a way of removing (or even lessening) the glitch on this edited DVD. It would be way too much work to try and go back to the original tapes. I want to see if it's possible to actually remove the glitch (that is consistent throughout) from the freshly edited DVD. Thanks.
