Question:

EFC Help on the FAFSA.?

So I just received a response from FAFSA and my EFC score is 00020. But there isn't anything on the FAFSA site that is even remotely helpful. What am I supposed to do with this information and what does it mean for me? Is there a graph or chart somewhere which tells me where I stand and how much I am supposed to pay?

  1. It varies by school...usually about 4500 so just subtract ur efc from that and thats what u get for ur pell grant for the year....lucky u, u get almost all of it...

  2. Your EFC, or expected family contribution, is only $20 for the year. What that means is that you are expected to pay $20 a year for your education. That is incredibly low. Your Pell grant, if you are full time, will be around $4500 for the year. Also, if your state has a fee waiver for community college, you will get that. Don't expect to pay much, if any for your college if you are going community. I just graduated from community actually profiting. Betreen tuition waivers and Pell Grants I actually made money. Your grants can help with living expenses!!!

  3. Yes, there is a graph/chart, but it is hidden in a secret location deep within AREA 51 and anyone who has access to it is brainwashed by Mulder and Skully that aliens will abduct them if they release it.

With an EFC of 20, your Pell grant would be $4,681.00 (half in the fall and half in the spring) if you attend FULL time and meet about a million other requirements like no estimated info on the fafsa, no bachelors degree, decent college GPA, no defaulted student loans, not too many hours attempted... and on and on and on.

You will prob qualify for federal Work Study and FSEOG if you applied early enough.  If you need it, you would also likely be eligible for Subsidized Stafford loans as well.

Read this book cover to cover.  It will help... But it won't stop me from being abducted by aliens because I spoke the TRUTH.

    :-)
