Question:

EGR Pressure Feedback Sensor?

Its for a 2002 Ford taurus. I just replaced the part, as the thingy you plug into the car said that was the reason my Check Engine Light was coming on. I mean I just mounted the thing to the two hoses and then plugged the plug thingy in. The Check Engine light is still on. Now I've heard of a thing where the codes have to be reset or something. Can anyone tell me of anything like this? Did I do something wrong?

  1. if what you did fixes the problem,,,the check engine lite will reset itself after about a half dozen starts or so.

The other way is to have the correct scanner that has the reset program in it.

BTW it is a good idea to get a can of MAF spray cleaner and spray all the gunk and soot out of the egr valve and hoseing. It could be sticking or whatever.

  2. well it takes certin amount of miles but to clear it should be hard

have you tried unplugging the battery for 6 minutes

  3. EGR diagnostic can be cause by a bad vacuum line also.  You can take you car to a part store that has a code reader and the can clear the code or you can disconnect the battery for 10 seconds and that will do the same thing.  These stores that reads codes are only reading codes.  Just like an oxygen sensor code can be cause from another problem.  i work at a part store that does this.
