EMA - Do single parent familys quailify?

Hi. My curent household income is above the 30,000+ pounds limit EMA set, but i have been told that single parent familys do qualifiy for EMA. We get little maintence off my dad(Dont know whever this is helpful info or not). Any help would be appriciated.
