It seems that my computer has viruses on it. I have Antivirus 2009 and it scanned my computer and it is infected. The thing is when I click "remove" it keeps asking for a Registration E-Mail and Registration Key. My family and I cannot remember the e-mail used. Is there another way to get rid of the viruses? Please help!

  1. If your AV software is retail-purchased with a CD, as opposed to a download, there should have been a sticker on the protective cover of the CD which contains the "product key."  This key should have been given when and if you registered your product.

You can try downloading the free version of AVG antivirus and running it in Safe Mode.  I suggest SAFE MODE to help you catch any self-executable viruses.

    Download AVG here:

    AVG free version, antivirus

    http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-avg-...

scroll down and be sure to click on the free download

    *********************************

In case you are not familiar with SAFE MODE:

Restart your computer to get to Safe Mode:

    -> Power on or Restart

    >>>As soon as you see the system trying to load (it will probably be black and white)

    >>>and before Windows tries to load,

    >>>press and hold the F8 key.

    >>>Continue holding F8 down until you see a black and white DOS menu.  I think Safe Mode is F3.

Click Start, Run.  Run your AV program.

(When it is finished, you will “EXIT” to Windows.   Your desktop icons will probably be out of order – just drag them back.)

    Restart

  2. get avast antivirus

  3. Antivirus 2009 is a fake anti-malware application.

Rogue software uses intentional false positives to convince the user that their system has been compromised and then demands money to remove these false threats. In extreme cases the false threats are actually the very trojans that advertise or even directly install the rogue. If Antivirus 2009 has been installed on your system without your permission or you are seeing popup advertising or recommending that you use Antivirus 2009 your system is infected with the zlob trojan.

For FREE removal see link below.

    Please update before scanning.

  4. What is Antivirus 2009?

Download Avast Antivirus and run a scan at the boot of your computer (you'll see that option when installing).

  5. if it's antivirus 2009 that you've bought, then i'm sorry but you've lost your money. antvirus 2009 is a scam. call your bank and explain what's happened maybe they will be able to help you with retrieving money.

if it's only antivirus 2009 that reports viruses and infections, you can ignore it because all the reports and scan and everything loaded by antivirus2009 is falsified.

if you have genuine antispyware installed on your computer, run a scan to delete antivirus 2009, otherwise you can follow removal tutorial and delete it on your own. good luck!

here's removal guide i told you about http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antiviru...

  6. Its possible antivirus 2009 is the virus

  8. Depending on what virus you've got... I once had a rogue and not even Avast could help...

just as a backup get superantispyware-Im not joking and it truly works!

It's anti spyware but it complements your antivirus.

    Just google it.

    Best of luck!

  9. Yes, unlike Mac OS X and Linux, Windows is plagued with viruses. You need a real AntiVirus suite:

  10. AVG 8 Free. It will sort you out

  11. Contact the  company that owns the software.  They should have the information in the system.  You had to set-up an account through them, so the info should be there.
