Question:

EMERGENCY!!! BABY RABBIT HURT!!?

A baby rabbit, so young it's eyes are not even opened, got run over by the lawn mower. It is breathing heavily and bleeding at a minor cut, and it's fur has been taken off at her back. I took a dropper and she drank a bit of water. I also put a blanket down in the hutch we have and set her in there. My dad said I may try to nurse her back to health, but it's unlikely she'll live, and he is not paying any vet bills! So, can someone tell me what I should do to help it, like, what food it should eat? And just so you really know.. SHE IS REALLY REALLY YOUNG! Eyes aren't even open. And yes, she can walk.

  1. Take it to the vets quickly x

  2. You can find the nearest emergency animal hospital at this link:

    http://www.pets911.com/services/emergenc...

Just type in your zip code.

A lot of these hospitals wave fees, almost like a free clinic.

  3. Emergency vet.

In an emergency leave yahoo answers alone.

  4. Yeah i agree BLOODY h**l GET TO THE VET I WOULD EVEN PAY FOR THIS BABY RABBIT! Bless i would never let it die!!

If you do that i would be disgusted!

    Livvy x

  5. call your vet. they will tell you what to do without you having to pay. :D

  6. take her to the vet feed it baby formula and make a little nest for it make it feel comfortable i bet it well live for a few days well it depends on the cuts hope that helps =]

  7. There's a rabbit that just appeared in our yard, so I looked up on the internet if I should take care of it, and how.  It says that baby rabbits should be left where you find them because they can't get along without mom, no matter what the vet does.  And right this minute, his mom is probably out there frantically looking for him.  Put him back and check in a few hours to see if he's gone.  She should come and get him.  If he can't make it, that's what happens to wild animals.  Sorry.

  8. i'd say baby formula. keep it warm. clean the cut. and pray.

and really, the bunny needs a vet...

  9. Poor little baby rabbit.

    Here's what I would do:

    Wash the cut

    Put a cloth over it

    take it to the doctor

  10. Go to the vet right away!! If not the vet there should be an animal rescue like a nature preserve around that can help you out too

  11. Go to the vet now it could die.

    http://www.tagyerit.com/hopline/wild.htm

go there it has a lot of good information.

  12. By the sounds of it's conditions, it will pass away in the next couple of hours. There isn't anything you can do. The best thing to do is get it to a wildlife center, they'll put it out of it's misery or if I'm wrong they have experts who will nurse it back to help. Even healthy baby rabbits rarely survive even in the hands of experts.

  13. Go online and find a wildlife rehabilitator in your area.  They won't charge you anything to take the bunny.  Until you do keep the baby on a heating pad wrapped in a towel, they must be kept very warm or will die from hypothermia.  Keep the area clean with water and soap.

  14. GO TO THE VET!! AND Y THE **** DID U RUN OVER A BABY RABBIT??

  15. If you cannot pay the vet bills, you should not take care of the rabbit. You should find someone to take care of the rabbit. You want to nurse it, but if it is likely to die, you should find someone who can pay the bill & take care of it as soon as possible. You can save its life!!

  16. Use and antiseptic like iodine on the cut and abrasions. Go to a pet show or library and look for a book on rabbits. Young rabbits eat milk for the beginning of their life. Put in in a box, in a blanket (hand towel) to keep it warm and keep on touching it frequently.

  17. Clean up the cut for a start, keep giving her water and phone the vet and ask them what to do!

    x

  18. Vet! Vet! Vet! Nothing can be solved by computers! Good luck, let me know how things pan out, poor little bunny

  19. OMG! Clean the cuts. Do not use poroxide. Just soap and water. Put her on a heating pad, and put some horse hay(NOT PELLETS!!) in there or her. and a bowl of water. But make sure to give it water every hour or 2 from an eye dropper. I really hope it lives!

Keep her in a cage, and keep checking on her!

You might noy need to go to vet.

But do everything I said and she sould be fine.

I hope everything work out! Poor baby!

  20. GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND GO TO THE VET!
