EMO??? Indy??

Question

What in the world is an Emo? And an Indy?

I remember a very unfunny comic named emo phillips. But, I'm old and have no idea what an Emo or an Indy is.

As far as I know, an Indy is a car used for racing and an Emo is a very untalented comedian.

They're both labels (like prep or goth), originally started from the music scene (emo came from emotive hardcore and indie came from independent music).

Based on style, emos are like the lighter and feminine version of goths.  Tight, skinny jeans, heavy eyeliner, and a bit of obsession with the hair.  Indies couldn't care less about the trends.  This is just based on stereotypes.

However, at this time, it's smart not to call someone emo or indie because in my opinion, it doesn't make sense to confine someone to a label like this.  You're better off giving someone "the look" when they start talking about emos and indies.

they r both sterotypes, and its spelled indie. indie is independent u do stuff totally different from everyone else and emo is emotional, it was orginally a music genre but now its this fashion thing and stuff that has many many posers in it. Posers r when u act like ur a sterotype just to be cool.

The word EMO comes from the music world. I think it's like a homo  (which I think is a woodwind instrument).

The word INDY is short for Indiana Jones, whose new movie comes out later this month.
