They won't wear red against wales if they play each other.

Every team in the world cup have an alternative strip in case their uniforms are too similar to an opposition.

New Zealand have worn white. The wallabies have worn hoops and you've seen all the other examples given here of alternative uniforms.

A wales V england match will be normal uniforms.

st georges cross is red on white, so it only makes sense that the pommie backup colour is red, however their standard jersey will still be white.

What are you talking about. I have just ordered my new England rugby shirt. It is white with a red slash across it.

   you might wanna get you details right before making your self look stupid. It is only tyhe Away shirt that is all red. And if you look at the welsh team I am sure you will fiond they have a different colour shirt for away games as well.By your way of thinking what gives the Welsh the right to wear  a white shirt as there away shirt. Get a grip . thats why it is called an "AWAY SHIRT" so that the colours are not confused with the home team.

I totally agree with Zaksta. It is not the colour of your shirt that matters it's the emblem on your chest....and in my opinion more importantly the fire in your belly that makes World Champions.

Wales and Tonga are the only two major countries I know of that wear red and it doesn't seem to have given either of them a major advantage up till now in the World Cup.

This is all just a storm in a teacup as far as I am concerned. England wear white and will continue to do so for the forseeable future, apart from maybe the odd one-off game when strips clash and anyway despite what the journo's say England have worn change strips before. I remember in the 1999 Rugby World Cup England played Fiji wearing blue shirts,  England won 45-23 and I don't remember France being too put out by it. C'mon Taffies don't fret......hey with England copying your colours perhaps there's actually a chance of a team in red making it to the Semi-finals again. Brian's the man he'll get us there !!!!

I am Welsh through & through after hearing this report on the news today I thought what is all the outcry about?

Wales wore White shirts last year if I remember correctly against Cananda & as well against the same team in the World Cup 4 years ago out in Austrailia.

Was anything said about that then? I cannot remember anything about us wearing white then.

I for 1 Do not care what colour shirts they wear. They could play in Pink with yellow dots as far as I am concerned.

The Welsh are inbred sheep shaggers that can't tell their arses from their elbows. The only reason you have to wear red is because it is the only primary colour all team members can pronounce effectively enough for the rest of the world to understand.

The new England kit has more white than red on it. Get over it love. Perhaps you should be more worried about the fact that the sponsors on the front of the Welsh shirts is "BRAINS" and we all know you haven't got any of those knocking around the changing rooms.

The new shirts are just another way to get fans to pay. Quite frankly anyone who wears the new style shirts has got to be mad, they are quite disgusting and feel bloody awful and unless you are really fit, forget it.

How does Nike expect any decent fan over 25 to fit into one of those skin tights things!

the only reason they've done it is to sell more replica kits. The only other team in the world cup who wears white is Fiji and there's not much chance of Fiji making the next round and playing England.

No problem with the Lilly-Whites wearing red. We`ve (Wales)  played in black before and I don't remember any Kiwis moaning. As for any kind of advantage.......Nope.

As long as we play each other in our home colours I don't mind. Otherwise I might get a bit confused after a few lagers, God forbid...

The psychological nonsense was just Lord Bald being bonkers. I wear red most weekends and have had a few tonkings recently. Our away shirt is black - NZ have never had an issue with this.

It's only the Ingerlund away shirt - Does it really matter?

Don't think they've ever worn an away shirt in 15's before.

And the training shirt has always been red.

I hear Wales's new home shirt might be white ;-)
