  1. The country has been prosperous by the discovery of oil.

  2. The country was made prosperous by the discovery of oil.

  3. The country has been made prosperous by the discovery of oil....... ........................ it's wrong that it can not be in passive .

  4. its active.

    passive:

The country has been made prosperous by the discovery of oil.

  5. The country has been made prosperous by the discovery of oil

  6. I think  that we can say the country had been made prosperous by the discovery of oil.

    Thank you

  7. ya vicky you are right only pa.  for active only.

  8. it's active of course

  9. Active voice is when the action is performed by the subject...

    "John kicked the ball".

Passive voice is when the action was performed on the subject .. "John was kicked by the bully".

Passive voice of your example would be..

"The country was made prosperous by the discovery of oil".

  10. It's active. The subject is "discovery" and that's what's doing the "action" of "making".

    In passive it would be:

The country has been made prosperous by the discovery of oil. Ugly, but not grammatically incorrect.

Note that the tense is the same "has made" is present perfect and so is "has been". "The country was made prosperous..." is the passive form of "The discovery of oil MADE the country prosperous".

Passive is always formed with "to be" (in the same tense as the active form of the verb is in) + the past participle (which is often the same form as the past tense form). All transitive sentences (ie the verb has an object) can be made passive.
