ENTRY OF JUDGMENT - CONTESTED what does this mean? .

I am a plaintiff and it looks like the Judge ruled in favor of the defendant but why does it say contested? Any help would be greatly appreciated

  1. You have not given nearly enough info for an accurate answer.  Are you saying that a judgment  has already been entered in your case?  Where did you see the words "Entry of Judgment - Contested"?  Was it on the docket sheet, the file jacket, an Abstract of Judgment, Order of the Court? Has there been a hearing on a Motion to Dismiss, Motion to Quash, Motion for Summary Judgment by the Defendant?  More info needed to answer without guessing.


  2. because the defendant showed up to court and contested that they owed you the money. if you lost you cannot appeal (in california) and you are out the money, sorry
