EPL Breaking News: Tottenham Hotspurs and Luka Modric out of danger as X Rays come clean
Tottenham Hotspurs star playmaker, Luka Modric, has been given a green signal to join up with the squad in the Champions league clash, following the positive results of his X-Ray on his left leg.
The player was seen leaving The Hawthorns Stadium on crutches on Saturday following an injury suffered in a bad challenge by Gonzalo Jara of West Bromwich Albion. Spurs managed to extract a single point from their outing, in 1-1 draw at West Bromwich.
It is good news for the Spurs as their star striker Jermain Defoe has been ruled out for three months owing to knee concerns. The manager, Harry Redknapp, expected Modric to be out of action for a long period of time following the tackle, but was extremely delighted to hear that nothing had happened to his left leg.
Spurs face an exciting Werder Bremen side as they travel to Germany in the UEFA Champions league. The men from White Hart Lane have been placed in Group A along with defending champions of the tournament, Italian club Inter Milan.
Eariler the London based club had asked fate to bring them challenges and even had quoted that they would love it if the Nerazzurri will be in their Group as they would like to prove their footballing dominance in Europe.
Modric was signed in by the Whites in 2008 and since then he has made 79 caps for the club and scored 8 times. Modric’s main job is to dominate in the midfield, play balls on the wings and astonish fans by his lustrous dribbling ability.
“Luka Modric will travel with the squad for our opening Champions League group match at Werder Bremen on Tuesday after x-rays of his left fibula came back clear,” claimed the manager. The midfielder was forced off the field owing to an injury suffered in the first half at West Brom but will now is constantly under observation before making himself available for selection.
