EPL Breaking News: Tottenham Hotspurs manager Harry Redknapp bids for Sevilla, Luis Fabiano and Roque Santa Cruz
The Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has announced that the club is interested in signing the Brazilian super star Luis Fabiano.
Though the 63 year old English manager has claimed that the price set for the player is too high and therefore if the Whites are going to buy him they are going to buy them at their own price.
Hodgson stated that he had no doubts about the abilities of the 29 year old Brazilian striker but his price in the market was quite inflated.
In a press conference he spoke about Hotspurs approaching for the forward with an official bid, he stated, “I think the chairman has enquired. He is a player that I like. I think you are talking crazy money for him, though”.
Hodgson said that Fabiano had just a year left on his contract and therefore the price in the market that came up to 25 million pounds was too excessive. Also the player was not as young as he used to be, and in 25 million pounds he could get a young world class players instead.
Nevertheless he stated that this was not his plan as he wanted Fabiano at White Hart Lane. He praised the players game and said that he was the perfect thing Tottenham needed to progress as he would gel quite well with the team.
He mentioned that with Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale at the right and left wings he would be the ideal forward to feed the ball to and with his finesse finishing skills he was sure to find the back of the net.
Hodgson did confirm the idea that no one from the Spurs had come forward for the Sevilla striker by stating that, “There is nothing close to being done, not that I know of. We are nowhere near doing a deal for anybody. I'm not that bothered to be honest”.
About the signing situation Hodgson mentioned, “We had a couple of targets at the start, and we got one of them, but we have a good squad and we will crack on. If we don't find somebody that we feel will make a difference, we will go with what we've got”.
Redknapp who helped Whites reach the fourth position of the English Premier League and now the Champions League group stages also stated that he wanted to sign the Eastlands forward Roque Santa Cruz.
About the Manchester City striker he stated, “I don't think Man City are going to let anybody go to teams around the top group”.
He also added, “I saw today that Shay Given could go to Arsenal, but I thought Man City weren't going to sell their players to anybody they felt was going to be challenging for a top four spot alongside them. I don't see that happening”.
