EPL Full Time Match Report: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United, 0-0 (Part 1)
Manchester United managed to extend their 25 match unbeaten Premier League record by registering nervy draw against an all action Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United were down to 10 men with 15 minutes remaining on the clock, when young Brazilian Rafael received the second yellow card of the match. Manchester United have managed to regain the pole position in Premier League owing
to superior goal difference from rivals Man City.
The match kicked off with a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 pass intercepted by Bale, who then galloped towards goal but his cross to Crouch was seen going across the touch line. Manchester United then managed to threaten Tottenham Goalkeeper Gomes, with
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 taking free shots at him from outside the box. Newly signed midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart also went close to scoring on two separate occasions but was always denied a shot from expert defending and man marking from United’s two centre backs.

It was an encounter between two sides who cancelled out each other in every department. Simply put, it was when an unstoppable force met an immovable object. The draw means United are still catchable and this title is not going to be decided
till the very end of the season. Prior to the fixture, statistics show that United’s favourite opponents are Tottenham, as the side has managed to extract most points from them than any other opposition. Tottenham have not registered a win over the Red Devils
since May 2001, a run which now stretches to 24 fixtures. It been a decade since United last lost and that was the case today at White Hart Lane. The point gained at home means Tottenham are still behind Champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 on the 5th spot
and would also miss out a Champions league spot should they finish here.
The moment that looked to change the fixture was Rafael’s second yellow card. The Brazilian full back clipped Spurs right back Assou Ekotto and the referee had no option but to give the Brazilian marching orders. His first offence was
his high studs challenge on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wilson-Palacios-c36948 and was lucky to escape with the yellow. Spurs have to be credited for their rejuvenation under manager Harry Redknapp, as this is the first time that they were entering this fixture as genuine title contenders.
United, however, have to be credited for their professionalism and spirit to keep Spurs pace in control and keeping their threatening balls out of the six yard box. The United http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 should have been the man of the match
for his impressive performances in intercepting every Tottenham attack. Vidic managed to keep Crouch from taking any header, despite being half a foot shorter to the towering forward.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985, who was in his 600th league appearance, showed no signs of aging playing entire 90 minutes with the same resiliene and passion he had when he was 17years-old. Only six more appearances for the 37-year-old
and he would take over the record of club legend Bobby Charlton. United had the chance to find the opening goal on the second minute, when a neatly set up move by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 for Wayne Rooney resulted in the 25-year-old taking a good shot on goal but
his effort was blocked by Gomes.
