EPL Gossip: Gomez to ditch Liverpool, Green and Upson on their way out, Fabregas commits to Arsenal again,
Chamakh vows to score twenty goals this season
Reports from Italy suggest that Liverpool might have failed to lure Mario Gomez to Anfield before the January transfer window kicks off. The player was earlier reported to be coming into the Premier League side from Bayern Munich, to try and take some pressure
off the shoulders of Fernando Torres.
However, it now seems that even before the deal actually materialized, Gomez has already opted to instead join the Italian club, Juventus. At present, he has fallen way down the pecking order at Munich and is therefore looking to move away from the team
to get more field time and also re ignite his international career.
Meanwhile, Robert Green and Mathew Upson could both be on their way out of the West Ham’s first team if they don’t pick up their form, according to Avram Grant. Both of them were part of the England side that failed miserably in the 2010 World Cup. So far,
they haven’t been able to get over the slump and now their domestic careers also seem to be at stake.
A Hammers’ insider said: "They seem to have returned from the World Cup as shadows of the players they once were. They are running out of chances and won't get many more. The team is at the bottom of the table and shipping goals at an alarming rate."
Coming off a disastrous World Cup campaign, Green was showered with insults by his team mates during the training sessions; his form has been dropping fast while Upson is no different either. Although, the defender has shown some decent performance but it
still isn’t nothing close to the standards that the Premier League has come to expect of him.
Moreover, Cesc Fabregas has gone public saying that his immediate future is committed to Arsenal and he doesn’t wish to discuss or even think about a move elsewhere. His statement came soon after Arsenal went on to thump six goals against the Portuguese
Champions, Braga. Fabregas once again proved to be the pivotal figure in the Arsenal side and was the key to unlocking Braga’s defense.
The captain scored two out of the six goals while he also had three assists in the night. The sixth goal was also due to the Spanish midfielder’s quick thinking and ability to win back the ball. Recently, Fabregas appeared to be involved in an ongoing saga
during the summers that constantly linked him with a move away to Barcelona; however, the player has now declared that he is fully committed to the North London team.
On the other hand, Arsenal’s forward Marouane Chamakh has vowed to score at least twenty goals this season. He has already scored three goals in four matches till now. The forward was brought in from Bordeaux this summer as a free transfer and has so far
proven to be one of the best transfers of the summer.
