EPL News: Arsenal cruise with ease past ten men Bolton Wanderers as they go on to put four past them
Arsenal jumped to the second spot in the English Premier League after they went on to successfully crush a ten men Bolton Wanderers side by four goals to one at the Emirates.
Arsenal's new boy, Laurent Koscielny was the surprise player to open the scoring for the Gunners as he went on to score his first goal for the club, however it was him who was at fault which saw Johan Elmander equalize for Bolton against the run of play initially.
Marouane Chamakh however soon decided to stepped up to the challenge and got Arsenal in front again on the fifty eighth minute mark. The turning point of the game took place when Gary Cahill was shown a red card for a tackle almost immediately after the goal. That really changed the whole scenario of the game.
Bolton were still looking to put up a contest however after the red card, Arsenal were able to pull clear and go on to secure the win as Alexndre Song and Carlos Vela both scored the teams third and fourth goals.
This win meant that Arsenal were now just with in two points of the current leaders and Premier League title holders Chelsea and two points ahead of Manchester United who drew to Everton early on in the evening while Chelsea went on to maintain their hundred percent record in the Premier League.
Arsenal took the much deserved lead in the twenty fourth minute, however the goal was not a typical Arsenal style goal, but instead it was bundled into the net by Koscielny after Cesc Fabregas managed to knock the ball into the rushing player’s path.
However near the dying stages of the first half, Bolton managed to pull one back against the run of action and dominance of Arsenal in the night. It was the goal scorer whose poor defensive header gifted the opportunity to the on rushing Bolton attack being spear headed by Johan Elmander.
In the second half however Arsenal started to show their class once again. Fabregas whipped in an inch perfect pass that met the head of Chamakh and the striker headed the ball into the net.
Gary Cahill made more misery for Bolton as he was shown a shock red card five minutes after the goal for a tackle that didn't seem to be the worst of the lot in the night.
After the red card the game was as good as over. Arsenal began to dominate the match from the get go and were looking more then just threatening. In a night when the most unusual players were scoring, Alexandre Song decided to get in on the act.
In the seventy eighth minute the midfielder lifted a shot over the on rushing keeper and saw the score read three goals to one.
Carlos Vela added the cherry to the cake as he came on late into the second half, but managed to rush past a sleeping Bolton defense to slot home a coolly taken shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.
