EPL News: Arsene Wenger looking to offer Samir Nasri new contract
Samir Nasri, who has quite simply been Arsenal's stand out performer and the Premier League's player of the season so far, took his tally into double digits; as he performed superbly against Fulham in Arsenal's two goals to one win this
past weekend. He of course was the person to score those goals in order to confirm the victory.
Arsenal have recently been looking to tie up all the younger players at the team, with long-term contracts hence are looking to do the same with Nasri by offering him a rather lucrative offer in hopes of the player extending his stay at
Arsenal until 2015 at least.
Arsene Wenger is reported to have said: "We try for a new deal"
"I believe 90 per cent of the players their career depends on the club where they go. It looks to me he has made the right decision when he decided to join us, so it would be the right decision for him to stay with us."
Nasri has a rather rare ability to be able to play on either flank, down the middle or as a supporting striker. Nasri has also been given a lot of freedom in the absence of injured captain, Cesc Fabregas and has managed to really shine
and take a hold of the team as their new play maker.
Wenger then went on to add that despite it being this early in the season, Nasri was on route to being the player of the season potentially and by doing so, he would be following in the footsteps of the Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.
Wenger was caught saying: "We are in the middle of the season now and I will be happy for him if he becomes Player of the Year - but what is the most important for me is that the club wins"
"The consequence if the club wins is that the players have a chance to win. I believe the priority is not to win individual awards - the most important thing is that the players focus on making their club win."
"Nasri is only 23 years old and at that age you develop. When Thierry Henry came here he was 23 already and still developed a lot so that means there is a lot more to come from Nasri, Fabregas and all these players, so they are not players
who are at the end of their improvement."
Arsenal have just managed to gain a victory in English Premier League which has granted them the top position in the League however that is with Manchester United still having a game to play against Blackpool.

On the Champions League front they are still behind as they are right on the edge requiring winning their last group stage match in order to proceed forward. Their fate will be decided tonight.
