EPL News: Chelsea asked to hold on
Chelsea who are the current reigning Champions of England, seem to have in the past gotten almost every player that they wished to sign. However their influence seems to be wearing thin as their latest prospect has asked the Blues to hold on.
The team were heavily linked with Borrusia Dortmund's centre back, Neven Subotic. However the player’s agent has gone ahead and rubbished any and all rumours about his client making the move to the Premier League this coming transfer window.
Chelsea have been struggling at the back this season, as both the team's first choice defenders, John Terry and Alex seem to get injured more than often and as a result Ancelotti has become more than eager to sign a defender of two in the January transfer
window.
However with Subotic being one of the prime targets for Chelsea, due to the fact that he is currently having a brilliant season with Dortmund seems to have given Chelsea the no go via his agent.
His representative is reported to have said: “I am aware of the latest rumours linking Neven with a move to England, but I can categorically rule out Neven leaving Dortmund in January. Neven is happy at Dortmund and he is focused on helping them to stay
at the top of the Bundesliga.”
Despite being rather unbelievable it appears as though for once Chelsea have been turned down by a team in their pursuit to land the clubs star assets. This might come as a shock to the management at the club, but in the long run it seems like Chelsea might
just end up and sign their man despite being told that he was not for sale.
Chelsea will however obviously also be looking for other more renowned replacements for the long run as Subotic being as good as he is, has not really proved himself to be the seasoned player that a team like Chelsea need amongst their ranks.
