EPL News: Chelsea looking to land Lyon playmaker,
Miralem Pjanic
Chelsea’s manger, Carlo Ancelotti is currently hot in the tracks of launching a bid for Lyon youngster Miralem Pjanic. The player who is currently only 20-years-old and is already an international for Bosnia is reported to have jumped a couple of slots in
the manager’s priority list lately being is now on the verge of making a move to England. The manager is also looking to speed up the process in hopes that it would prevent any and all other teams from landing the player before him.
Pjanic made his debut for Lyon way back in 2008, when he was singed from Metz. He has however ever since been one of the most consistent players in the side and last season he became a one man army as he helped the French side reach the semi-finals of Champions
League This season however Lyon have not been doing as good as they would have liked to and as a result most of the players including Pjanic are looking to move elsewhere.
Another reason for Chelsea looking to sign the player is down to the fact that Frank Lampard seems to be suffering from some chronic injury which is keeping him from gaining match fitness. As a result, instead of sitting around Ancelotti is looking to bring
in players who can take over in the Chelsea midfield as soon as possible.
With Lyon currently struggling badly and Chelsea doing brilliantly, the midfielder might be tempted to make a move away from the side if occasion arises.
It is now up to Ancelotti to play his cards and see how they turn out for him in the near future. There is no doubt in the fact that Chelsea do need a couple of players apart from their first-liners.
Proof of that is the current situation of the club where many players are injured including John Terry, Alex, Lampard and a couple of others. They are also missing the services of Michael Essien who was red carded in his last match for a two-footed tackle.
With most of their main players out they are looking at the bench for inspiration, something that is demeaning for the defending champions of EPL.
