EPL News: Coyle remains positive despite defeat to City as Ferguson backs Giggs to continue
Owen Coyle has come out with positive words after his side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. Bolton’s manager saw his team lose out because of a solitary Carlos Tevez goal but he is adamant that the good work that his team
has been doing will not go to waste as Bolton look to remain in the top half of the table following their impressive start to the English league season.
Bolton were given a boost during the match as City went a man down due to Kolarov’s sending off for a second bookable offense on Sam Ricketts. However, numerical superiority was not enough for Coyle’s men to usher themselves back into
the match as City ended up as eventual winners.
Bolton’s manager said, "We are disappointed to have lost the game as it is not a feeling we have been accustomed too often this season. We will pick ourselves up and get back in training during the week with a smile on our faces. I felt
we never got to the heights we are capable of. We will take our medicine and look to bounce back quickly. We have a tough game against Blackburn because they will be on a high after their win (3-0 against Wolves). We need to be fully focused for the challenge."
Bolton who are seen by many as Europa League position contenders this season have only lost three games this season. Coyle went onto say, "I only look from one week to another. We are not one of those elite clubs that have a long-term
plan. I had only 20 players available for this game as Stuart Holden was injured. There is no-one more ambitious than me. Every game I want to win. It would have been easy to park the bus and get everyone behind the ball. But I believe with the quality Manchester
City have they would have picked us off."
On the other hand, after Ryan Giggs stated in his latest interview that he can very well retire after the 2010-2011 season with Manchester United. The Red Devil’s long standing manager has backed Ryan to keep up the good work as he stated,
"Ryan is unbelievable - he's 37 years of age but his fitness has not changed. I think there is another year in him. It is difficult to say at that age because they can hit the buffers just like that. Ryan will want to carry on because he knows he is fit enough.
It is different with Gary. We will have to assess him. He has an injury again and it is difficult when you get injuries all the time in your 30s."
Manchester United’s weekend game was cancelled away at Blackpool due to extensive snowing at the Bloomfield road. United play their next crucial league encounter against Arsenal at Old Trafford on 13th of December,
2010.
