EPL News: Holloway never expected Blackpool’s 2-0 win- Chelsea’s owner not fanatical for CL Trophy
BLACKPOOL
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has admitted that he had never thought his side could manage a shock 2-0 victory at St. James Park. Blackpool won their second match of the season following their promotion into the top flight.
"If you had asked me before we started, the emotion we were all feeling, I wouldn't have given us a cat in h**l's chance. But they just never cease to amaze me, these boys. They are the best group I have ever worked with. We have got 11 new people in and that's far too many, but that's their job, to blend and perform. Results like this will help them", said the Blackpool manager.
BOLTON WANDERERS
Despite Wanderers' defeat to Arsenal, Youngster Adam Bogdan was delighted by his full Barclays Premier League debut, and is eager for more. The 22-year-old Hungarian shot stopper was conceded four times at the Emirates Stadium but he managed to make some impressive saves. His most important save came when he blocked Marouane Chamakh during the second half.
The player believes that the team did well but they were unfortunate with the goals. Bodgon doesn’t think that he could have asked for a better place to make his league debut and the only thing that would have made his debut better was the victory that never came by. He vowed to learn from this game.
CHELSEA
Blues’ manager, Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich isn’t fanatical with winning the UEFA Champions League trophy. Reports claim that Abramovich is obsessed with the European success but manager Ancelotti claims that it’s not the case. The Italian said that Roman simply wants to win everything but not specifically the Champions league.
Carlo stated that the only thing Roman wants is a team with a clear identity and God Graciously that has been achieved. He further claimed that he never had any outside pressure. After winning the doubles last season, it would be normal for players to think about the European glory. Chelsea’s finest have been in the semi finals five times while one time in the final.
EVERTON
Merseyside Midfielder, Steven Pienaar is enjoying his football at his current club, Everton. The South African agreed that the World Cup this summer made things hard for many players who returned to their clubs unusually late owing to extended breaks. However, for Pienaar, that isn’t the case, as currently, he has just started to get fully fit to play his full 90 minutes.
Pienaar feels on the top of his form. He added that even though he made mistakes, he would just have to improve but that can only be done by playing more football. The South African further added that featuring for his national team helped him get sharper and it also boosted his confidence.
