EPL News: Ireland being targeted by Newcastle and Liverpool
Stephen Ireland a player who was traded to Aston Villa from Manchester City, against his wish seems to have already grown rather frustrated with his role at the club. The player has been reported to not be very happy with the bench role that he has at the
club and as a result he has had a number of hot headed discussions with the Villa manager Gerard Houllier.
However nothing has been resolved as yet resulting in the player is now looking to sort his future out at the club this week. The player will be looking to either get more field time or be allowed to leave for another team where he might see far more time
on the pitch.
The player has in fact grown so frustrated that he is looking to move out as early as January. However Villa might not be so open to letting the player go just yet.
Nonetheless the news of the unsettled player has reached ears all across England and there are a number of teams already lining up to land the player’s signature.
The two teams that have broken ahead of the pack and are current firm favorites to sign the player are Liverpool and Newcastle.
Both Liverpool and Newcastle have had their fair share of injury concerns in the past and so far this season and could really use a creative midfielder like Ireland amongst their ranks.
According to experts Liverpool however are more than likely to beat Newcastle for the player’s signature, if the situation does arise. This is because in the past Ireland expressed his desire for like the Anfield based team and also mentioned how he would
like to someday play for them. However that was a long while ago and with the team currently struggling as bad as they are the player might just have to give his future a thought or two.
Ireland also still possess the same talent that he had when he was at City, this was evident in the game that he played this weekend against Arsenal. The player came off the bench and managed to help spring Villa back into life. In fact the turn around after
the player’s introduction was so great that at one point it looked like Villa would at least draw the game.
Some experts believe that it is for this very reason that Houllier is keeping the player around, however in the end it would be up to Ireland to decide if he wishes to stay or leave.
