EPL News: Liverpool lining up shock move for Darren Bent
Liverpool are currently said to be contemplating a shock move for Sunderland's red hot in-form striker Darren Bent. Roy Hodgson is said to be on the look out to bring some new dimension to the attack line at Anfield and as a result has
been linked to numerous players in the past. The newest players among the list is Darren Bent, the England international who has had a rather sparkling career already at the Stadium of Light.
Hodgson recently came to the realization that Liverpool, were a little too heavily reliant on Fernando Torres, the local World Cup winner and were rather useless up front when the player was out of action. The team's current back up to
Torres is David N'Gog, who by all means has a lot to do to prove himself to be worth of the Liverpool bench.
In the past players that the manager was rumoured to be pursuing included Premier League duo Roman Pavlyuchenko and Carlton Cole as well as, Roma's new main man Mirko Vucinic.
However the Red's of Anfield will now be turning their attention towards the 26-year-old Bent and tempt him with a move to Liverpool. The player has managed to net a staggering thirty one goals in just fifty appearances for the Black Cat's
and has already become a cult hero at the Stadium of Light. However the player would be more than willing to put all of that aside, if he is guaranteed a spot in the Champions League. That being said, Liverpool being a part of the Champions League in the coming
season is somewhat of a major doubt at the moment, which is why the team will have to think about that before presenting it as one of the perks to Bent for moving to Anfield.
The player is also currently being valued at twenty two million pounds, which means Hodgson will really have to push his boundaries with the clubs new owners if he wishes to land the player.
