EPL News: Liverpool’s number one, goal keeper Jose Pepe Reina commits to club
Liverpool’s number one shot stopper Pepe Reina has gone ahead and stated that he is fully committed to Liverpool and will be looking to play out his long term contract with the team, at the same time the player has also stated that contrary
to popular belief the player has not yet told the team’s manager that he wishes to leave the club.
Reports had earlier stated that the player felt like not belonging with the team anymore and wished to leave it as early as January.
In response to the rumours the player is reported to have said: "I have not told the manager that I wish to leave in January or at any time."
"It is important our fans know this. I have a long-term contract at the club and am fully committed to the club."
The keeper then went on to further add: "I have seen a newspaper has made this suggestion. It is completely untrue."
Another rumour stated that the keeper was also quite unhappy with the fact that club was taken over by new owners. It was stated that Reina did not like the policies that were brought in with the new ownership, however the player went
on to prove any and all rumours wrong when he articulated: "Our new owner met me and some of the other players last week and I was very happy with what he told me"
"The entire squad and staff are working very hard to get us back competing at the top of the table. We will not be distracted by inaccurate media speculation."
Nonetheless the keeper is well aware of the fact that the team are currently struggling in the league. Reina has insisted that he is not affected by the current way things are going at the club and has focused himself a hundred percent
to giving Liverpool his all and to try and get the team back to their winning ways as soon as possible.
That being said it would not be surprising to watch Reina leave at the end of the season after witnessing Liverpool finish their worst season in the history of the Premier league, however it might be a little early to say that, but nonetheless
the way things are going about at the club this is a quite possible scenario.
