EPL News: Man United fails to deliver yet again- Fergie confirms Rooney for Champions’ League Ranger clash (Part 2)
Everton’s manager, David Moyes has claimed that Fergie didn’t play his young gun (Rooney) because he wanted to make an example out of him for his off field antics but Ferguson reacted by saying, "No regrets. I did the right thing. And I have no concerns about playing him tomorrow at all. I don't know if tomorrow will inspire him. He has a lot of experience behind him. But I do know scoring for England last week will have given him a boost.”
United over the years has been criticized and compared to a military academy. It is said that Fergie tries to keep every blade standing at the same angle at Old Trafford. Moyes was being seen as an option to replace the aging manger at Man United as earlier in the season it was rumored that Ferguson would be leaving old Trafford.
Another man for this job was former Inter Milan manager, Jose Mouinho, who now is Real Madrid’s new manager but Ferguson clarified that he was in “ruddy” good health to continue managing. The general opinion among the fans and experts is that although Ferguson is all loving and caring on the outside, he is still furious in the inside as Rooney has not only endangered his chances of having a successful season but has also somewhat destroyed the club’s image due to his personal affair.
Moyes also thinks the same as he stated that Ferguson is just appearing like this for the public consumption while in reality he is furious with the striker. Rooney has been targeted by Everton ever since he left the club in 2004 being transferred for a 25 million pound deal. Moyes cleverly disguised his words against Ferguson when he said, “I don't think you should put it all on the crowd."
He added, “The manager there knows what he's doing and I'm sure he did what he thought was right. Maybe he was just making sure everybody realizes that if you play for Manchester United you have to conduct yourself in a certain manner.” Wayne Rooney has been a gleaming star for United ever since his arrival there, having scored 132 times in 285 fixtures. If United have to win the title this season they would surely want Rooney to be in his top form.
