EPL News: Manchester City say no deal to Carlos Tevez's transfer request
Manchester City have gone ahead and formally turned down Carlos Tevez's transfer request. City who went on top of the Premier League table to be joint leaders with Arsenal, on Saturday went ahead and stated that they were highly disappointed by the player’s
decision, especially after they had been so accommodating to him. The team were clearly referring to the fact that they had often helped the striker out with his personal issues, involving the fact that the rest of his family was still living in South America.
The club is reported to have said the following in a statement released on its website: "This is both an unfortunate and unwelcome distraction and the club will remain focused on the games ahead in what is turning out to be a very promising season"
"The door remains open for Carlos to be selected to play."
Tevez joined Manchester City in 2009, after enjoying a brilliant spell with arch rivals Manchester United. Tevez is also the one of the highest earners at the club at the moment, despite him missing out on a number of games; including last night’s win over
West Ham United.
Ever since joining City Tevez has been in the best form of his career. The player has gone on to score thirty three goals in just fifty appearances for the team in the league. However his constant desire to leave the club, due to his homesickness is something
that has often disappointed the fans. At one point in the last year Tevez was on the verge of calling it quits on his playing career altogether.
However due to recent developments, involving the players official handing in a transfer request and then eventually getting rejected, proves that perhaps this time Tevez really has had it with the team. City are more than just reluctant to let the player
go. It is now going to be interesting to watch what happens with Tevez at the Eastlands over the next couple of weeks, as surely it's going to impossible for the team to retain a player who doesn't wish to be there.
