Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli to undergo knee surgery
“Super Mario”, the Italian prodigy Mario Balotelli has his fingers crossed in hope that he will be able to make a debut for his new home Manchester City in the club’s most recent match against Blackburn Rovers.
Balotelli is hoping that he will at last get a chance to open and make his debut for the Citizens in their Saturday’s fixture. However, the latest news from reliable sources is that the Italian star will not be able to play for the Eastlands this weekend.
Rumours that are fast being confirmed have it that Super Mario needs a knee surgery. The reports have erupted from Italy and media has been flailing it all over the place.
Sources have revealed that the Italian international will be having his operation in Pavia which is near Milan. It is said that the medical procedure might take place at some time on Thursday.
The medical procedure is occurring because of an injury Balotelli picked up during a match against FC Timisoara. In the match it did seem like Balotelli was facing some difficulty with his knee.
Later it was confirmed that the player had suffered an injury and a team of doctors had been assigned to conduct tests and analysis with news about his status.
The match that caused the injury was a Europa League match on 19th August. Now it has been confirmed by officials that if the surgery takes place the player will be out of action for a couple of weeks.
While the striker has yet to perform in the English Premier League he has already left his mark in playing against Romania as he was called off the benches to be part of the action.
He also scored the winner for his club Manchester City in the qualifiers of Europa League.
