EPL News: Manchester United line up shock move to sign Manchester City player
Manchester United, who just so happen to be Manchester City’s biggest rivals seem to be on the verge of doing the unthinkable and conducting a transfer between the two teams, yet again.
The player that the team is looking to sign is none other than City’s want away goal keeper, Shay Given.
Given in the past was heavily linked with a move to either Arsenal or Celtic, however thanks to some recent developments it looks like the player might be on his way to Manchester United instead. The news happened to just break in a couple of weeks prior
to re opening of the transfer window and it looks like United could be on the verge of landing a new keeper as soon as January.
Given is reported to be on the verge of handing in a transfer request as early as next month, while United are looking to make a formal move for the player as early as next month as well.
Edwin Van Der Sar who is the current first choice at the club just turned forty last month and is on the verge of hanging up his playing boots, as a result Alex Ferguson has been left in a desperate search to try and find a replacement as soon as possible.
It majorly appears as though Tomasz Kuszczak would take over as the new United number one, but Alex Ferguson is not quite sure that the Polish keeper is ready to step up to the challenge just yet.
On the other hand, Given has proven time and time again that he has what it takes to be amongst the best in the world and a move to United might just help him establish that fact with authority.
The move seems to make sense since the player is currently surplus goods at the Eastlands; however only one thing that is holding the move back from going through is the rivalry between the two teams. If the two teams can see beyond that then a move for
Given to United could take place in the near future.
