EPL News: Manchester United looking to land goal scoring machine,
Gylfi Sigurdsson
Manchester United are currently being hotly linked with a move forth former Reading forward, Gylfi Sigurdsson. The 21-year-old was formerly a Reading player but managed to make a move to the German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim this summer. However having already
shown his worth for the both the teams, the player is reported to have struck some serious interest at Old Trafford.
The player who turned 21 years this September represents his home country of Iceland internationally and recently managed to score two brilliant goals against Scotland. His brilliant performances also helped Iceland secure a place in the Euro 2012 Under-21
finals.
The player left Reading for around six million pounds, however thanks to his recent heroics both for club and country, his price tag is reported to have spiked up to the region of around nine million pounds.
The player was also linked with a move to Arsenal, but with the youth players at Arsenal performing way beyond expectations, any and all interest from the North London side seems to have died out in the player.
Another major boost that United see in the player is the fact that he can play as both an attacking midfielder and an all out striker. The player possesses a brilliant technique along with a keen eye for goal and superb ability to pass the ball around. Manchester
United are currently running low on both quality midfielder and quality strikers and as a result the player seems to be just what the team is looking for.
United could make a move for the player as early as January, however if they do so then they would most probably loan him back to the German outfit for the remainder of the season. That being said it is now a matter of sitting back and waiting to see what
happens once the transfer window opens up again.
