EPL News: Manchester United showing strong interest in Ashley Young
Ashley Young has often been regarded to be the biggest fish, in a rather small pond at Aston Villa. The player has often been linked with a move away from the club, but no real requests for the player have ever managed to materialize but that is until the
last couple of season. However all of that could soon change as Manchester United the latest club who are showing strong signs of interest in landing the players signature.
It has been reported that Young along with a number of other players have grown frustrated with life at Villa and with the tactics that are being employed by the team’s new manager Gerard Houlllier, which have seen the team win only two of their last eleven
games in the Premier League.
The team did manage to go on and win against West Brom this past Saturday to end a terrible run of four consecutive losses for the team. It was a win that helped Villa sit only four points clear of the relegation zone however they are still in strong contention
to drop into the bottom three in the league.
Regarding the current situation at the club it has been reported that Young has finally had it with the team and is going to be looking to push for a transfer away as early as January. With the player having made up his mind, it seems like United are going
to be lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce at the right opportunity to land the player.
Manchester United are currently having problems of their own as winger Antonio Valencia is a long way off from making a comeback. As a result the team is currently short one winger. Young just happens to be a player who can step right in and take over as
Valencia's heir, but it is now down to whether the Red Devils are willing to pay the twenty million pounds that Villa are asking for the player.
With United having enough funds to push ahead with the deal, it will ultimately be up to Alex Ferguson to decide if Young is the player that he wishes to bring into the side this January.
