EPL News: Manchester United’s Gary Neville sparks fire with neighbors Manchester City
Gary Neville has successfully managed to rekindle the red hot rivalry between the Red Devils neighbors Manchester City, by claiming that he has very little to no respect for the team that would go on to spend a loads of money to sign players in hopes of winning titles.
The outspoken Manchester United faithful has almost always had a problem with a club or two and has never made his thoughts remain private. Two of the teams that the side back hates the most are however Manchester City and Liverpool.
However the player has recently gone on to admit that he has far less respect for the money spending Manchester City as compared to his favorite team to hate which is Liverpool.
Neville said in an interview with the Daily Mirror: "When I was younger there was no doubt about it, I was a United fan, Liverpool were winning everything and it was a horrible time for the club to be honest through the Seventies and Eighties.
"I suppose it comes from jealousy through my childhood. But I have more respect for them as a club in a sense of their tradition and their history than I would do some of the other clubs that have been coming on the scene in the last few years, throwing a load of money at it.
"They have got a good history, you have to hand it to them for that, and they have been successful."
Similarly there are United fans who are hated equally as much by the Blue team from Manchester. The people who are disliked the most are the United fans, who go on to taunt their city counterparts with banners that remind their neighbors just how long it really has been since Manchester City actually lifted any silverware.
Manchester City haven't won a title in the last thirty four years and the fact that this record is on display at the Stretford End at Old Trafford is something that is to much for the Manchester City chief, Garry Cook to handle.
Cook was reported to have said in a venture that charted the teams campaign last season that it drove him and the rest of the officials 'nuts'.
More news from Manchester is that, according to the Sun, Rio Ferdinand has offered his opinion and views on just what is wrong with football these days and is reported to have said, “Kids who think if they get in the first team, all the girls will chase them and they'll get into nightclubs for free.”
Well along similar lines there is one player at Old Trafford that could find himself neck deep in problems soon. According to the Daily Star,” Wayne Rooney is in real trouble after his alleged dalliances with certain females - because their respective boyfriends are an armed robber and a gun runner who are 'intent on revenge'.”
Rooney has however gone on to assure Sir Alex Ferguson the manager of Manchester United, that he won't let his personal affairs effect how he plays and will be looking to go all out in the team’s upcoming game against Everton this weekend, even if he does have to face a barrage of abuses from all the fans.
