EPL News: Rafa looking to attack Liverpool once again
Rafael Benitez the former manager of Liverpool and the current manager of Inter Milan is apparently not looking to leave his former club at peace. The manager is now reported in attempting to lure away players from Anfield all the way
to the San Siro. Reports have confirmed that the player Rafa has in mind in none other than Daniel Agger.
The manager is apparently looking to find a replacement for Walter Samuel and feels like there is no one better than Agger to do that job. The reason behind that is the Nerazzurri defender’s injury. Samuel has been ruled out for the rest
of the season, due to ligament injuries that he picked up earlier.
As a direct result, the Danish international Agger has made it to the top of the manager’s priority list. In the past it was Benitez who lured the Dane to Anfield and he feels like he shouldn’t have any difficulties at repeating his past
actions.
Benitez is reported to have said: “Since we’ve lost such an important player as Samuel, we will have to arrange the roster in January.’’
There are also countless rumours that are floating about which state that the player and his current manager, Roy Hodgson have has some sort of a difference in beliefs as to what the club needs to do in the future and as a result the manager
does not rate Agger very highly.
This misunderstanding between the player and the manager could add as a catalyst to the 25-year-old actually parting ways with the Anfield based team and heading over to Inter instead.
Benitez has already estimated the player to cost him around the region of twelve million pounds and is willing to part with a little more cash if required. That being said Agger, according to most experts should part ways with Liverpool
if given the opportunity. The player is still young and needs to get as much field time as he can.
So far at Liverpool he has only had a handful of chances to prove himself, but due to the fact that his manager doesn’t regard him highly he probably would never get more playing time then the one he is presently granted with.
Now however it is going to be a wait till January to see what really happens with the player in the future.
