EPL News: Roberto Mancini says Carlos Tevez to be rested in Europa League match
The Italian manager Roberto Mancini has finally stated that the Argentinean international Carlos Tevez has deserved a break from his busy life.
The manager stated that he will give the world class striker a small vacation in the following days so that he can relax and return to football refreshed.
The 45 year old Mancini has stated that Tevez will not be playing in the Europa League match against Lech Poznan.
As the English club locks their horns with the Polish, they will be looking forward to another striker to lead the attack as the yellow arm band of the captain will be transferred to Kolo Toure.
Lech Poznan will be visiting the Eastlands to participate in the Europa League group stages this Thursday. Many experts believed that the coveted forward needs a break from his footballing life.
About a week ago Tevez stated that he was tired of his footballing career and reckoned that one day he would just wake up and his career would be over.
That was just part of the story as later a locker room bust up occurred between the manager and the striker in which Tevez complained that too much work load was being heaved upon him.
He also criticized the strategy and tactics of Mancini saying that he relies too much on a sole striking figure in the team.
Mancini has stated that all this is because of the stress the player is going through. He also clarified that the team was going under some major adjustments and their training schedule had gotten more hectic.
After the controversial press release of Tevez it was being speculated that the talented centre forward might consider an early retirement but Mancini who has also managed at Inter Milan confirmed that he has had a chat with the player and he is taking no
such measures.
In an interview Mancini stated, “I would like to rest Carlos. He has played a lot of games and when he goes with Argentina it is difficult.”
He added, “He was tired when he came back last week.” Now hopefully the player will come back feeling much better as a lot is expected from him.
