EPL News: Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale’s brilliance has the football world running scared
Last night, Gareth Bale was lethal as Tottenham Hotspur humiliated the 5-time European champions Inter Milan 3-1. The North Londoners took their sweet revenge from the San Siro side when they were defeated 4-3.
In last night’s game, The Welsh wizard was at his peak once again and set up two goals for Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko. Before that, Dutch playmaker Rafael van der Vaart’s 1st goal set Harry Redknapp's men on
the way to victory and put them on the top of Group A.
Harry was full of praise for the English attacking midfielder and is of the opinion that people are scared of the winger. Brazilian Maicon Douglas Sisenando, commonly known as Maicon, regarded as the best-right back in the world,
couldn’t keep pace with the left winger.
Bale continued his fine form and proved that his unbelievable hat-trick in Spurs' 4-3 Champions League defeat at Inter Milan was not a fluke. Despite the bitter defeat in that match, to many it felt like a win for the Spurs. Some
people might have thought that 3 goals scored were just a one-off performance and this might not happen again, but this time the North Londoners were in total control and showed everyone why they are not to be taken lightly by any stretch of the imagination.
Bale on his performance:
He believes that playing in Europe has also given the team the confidence which they lacked previously, especially after the Premier League weekend’s disappointing 2-0 loss against Manchester United.
Bale said: "I just feel confident on the ball at the moment. The team is playing well and it allowed Aaron Lennon and myself to run at defenders. I'm enjoying every minute of my game. I always knew what I was capable of but the
difference now is I am being given the chance to learn my trade in training.”
Harry Redknapp on Gareth Bale:
Redknapp, who was heavily criticized by the Football Association (FA) for his comment about referee Mark Clattenburg for allowing a controversial goal, was once again full of praise for his team who thrashed the 5-time champions.
Redknapp praised Gareth but also said that it was a team performance. It was one of the greatest nights for the fans at White Hart Lane. They were playing with the current Champions and they simply outplayed them.
He said: "Bale was unstoppable and was playing against Brazil right-back Maicon, rated by many the best in the world. It's like you're a boxer knocking everybody out. But it's only when you do it against the top people that it
counts. Well, he was coming up against the champion tonight and he has done it again.”
Redknapp also made it clear that Bale is not for sale at any price and as far as selling him goes, Tottenham is not a selling club anymore as its owners are not poor people. He believes that Gareth doesn’t need to go anywhere as
he is playing his best football here at White Hart Lane.
Bale wants to be as good as Cristiano Ronaldo:
The Welsh wizard Bale has set his targets on becoming the next Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid's £80 million ace Ronaldo is simply the best player in the world. Still just 21 years of age, Bale is going in the right direction after
his Champions League hat-trick and if Tottenham can win the competition, he would be one of the candidates for the FIFA Ballon d’Or.
