EPL News: Tottenham looking to swoop in for drama queen Adebayor
Tottenham are currently looking to make a sensational swoop and move in for former Arsenal forward, Emmanuel Adebayor. The player has in the past expressed strong desires to part way with Manchester City and is currently trying to contemplate a January move
for himself.
Tottenham have become aware of the players intentions and are looking to make things easier for the player by offering him a lifeline not far from where he already is. The North London team is looking to offer a loan deal to the player in January with hopes
that City will be looking to cut their expenses and as a result will be tempted into letting the player go.
Having previously played for Arsenal not many fans will be expecting the striker to join his former rivals. However neither one of the parties has ruled out a move therefore pundits have referred it to be an impossible occurrence in the near future.
An insider from Tottenham is reported to have said: “There is a real chance we could land Manu in the transfer window – although a lot does depend on who pays his wages. City expect us to pay the bulk but the big question is how far our board are prepared
to go.”
The player is currently making a hundred and sixty thousand pounds a week for barley doing anything at the Eastlands and that amount is nearly twice as much as what anyone at Tottenham is making. So if the player does decide to opt to make the move he would
be held back by the fact that he would have to take such a huge pay cut.
However on the other hand Adebayor has proven to be a rather important force in Europe. So far this season despite having played only eight games the player has scored five goals, four of which have come in the Europa League.
This ability of the player to score in the big games is what has really turned Tottenham's head towards the troublesome player and it is now a wait till January to see what really happens.
