EPL News: Wenger concerned over Diaby
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has gone public with the fact that he is more than just concerned about Abou Diaby’s ankle injury. He also went on to admit to the fact that despite the player being on the recovery table, there is no set date to guarantee
the players return to first team action.
The twenty four year old French midfielder has been out of action for almost a month, after having picked up an injury on October sixteenth, as a result of a crunching tackle at the feet of Bolton’s defender Paul Robinson.
Diaby however is no newbie to suffering leg injuries; the player had suffered a leg break and a dislocated ankle in 2006. However despite the horrific injury, the player managed to make it back to first team action and become a key part of the Arsenal team.
Nonetheless the manager strongly feels that this time around the player’s injury is something to be concerned about due to the fact that, it is still unclear as to how serious the damage is and as a result no one is quite sure about how long his recovery
is going to take.
Arsene Wenger is reported to have said: "You look at Diaby since he got this tackle (from Robinson), he has never come back to a normal level"
"He was never himself and today we have worries for him. We don't know how long he will be out.
"He has seen two surgeons already and at the moment we have to be patient to see if he can get away with it."
Wenger, along with most of the Arsenal team will be hoping that the midfielder can recover sooner rather than later, this is due to the fact that the Arsenal squad could really use all of its senior teams back to full fitness, in hopes of launching a successful
title challenge this term.
Despite Arsenal doing as good as they have done so far this season, if players start getting injured left and right then the team will surely start to struggle later on. However considering the fact that Diaby is currently being given the best medical treatments
possible, it is safe to say that the versatile midfielder, who can play as both a holding and an attacking midfielder will be back to play in the Arsenal red strip before the end of the month.
