EPL News: Wenger looking to bring in Benzema by smashing transfer record
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to go ahead and smash the club's current transfer record by trying to push ahead and sign Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema. The manager is also reported to be willing to push for the move as early
as January to bring the French international to the Emirates. The manager is reported to be on the desperate lookout to bring in quality to the team so that an end to his five year trophy less haul can be placed. He strongly feels like Benzema is a piece of
the puzzle that could help him do just that and much more.
Real Madrid being led by Jose Mourinho have seen Bezema being called into action for the Spanish outfit rather sparingly. As a result the former Lyon striker has become a hot favourite to be one of the players to leave the club, that is
of course if he doesn't want to fight for a place in the starting eleven.
The player has already been dangled in the market by the Madrid president who stated that the player was not for sale, but if he was to be sold then he would cost any possible suitors around twenty five million pounds.
That figure would not only break Arsenal's current transfer record, but it would go on to be nearly double of what the current record stands at. However that being said it is also safe to say that Arsenal are more than able to meet the
demands of the Spanish club due to the funds that they have generated over the course of the last couple of seasons. Arsenal was one of the only teams to actually make a profit this last fiscal year and the fans have been urging Wenger to spend some of that
hard earned cash to bring quality to the team.
However at the same time Wenger also need's to realize that the team currently has a more than capable attacking line up and it is the defence that could really use some positive reinforcements. According to most experts if the manager
does wish to go all out and spend some major money then perhaps he should do so by bringing in some quality defender before he tries to sign another attacker.
However it is now up to Wenger to decide what's best for the club as it would be rather brilliant to watch Benzema be a part of the Arsenal attacking line up.
