EPL Review: Bolton Wanderers, Fulham, Liverpool and Manchester City
Bolton Wanderers:
The Trotters manager claimed he is relaxed with Elmander's contract scenario after watching the player further increase his reputation with a winning goal against Tottenham two weeks ago.
Bolton Wanderers’ manager said: "He is in the last year of his contract and he is well within his rights to let that run its course if he so deems. But I speak to him every day on the training ground and we have a very good relationship. I'm comfortable
with the situation and he keeps giving me everything he's got. We are delighted to have him and would I love to be able to say Johan has signed a new three-year contract? Absolutely, we haven't got to that stage yet but we will continue the dialogue."
Bolton Wanderers are in red hot form this season, currently sitting at the fifth spot of Barclays Premier League, which is their best standing in the table in recent history. Owen Coyle’s men are only 3 points behind Champions League spot. Wanderers have
scored 19 points in 13 matches.
Fulham
Fulham have not recorded an away win since the opening day of last season, a statistic which manager Mark Hughes is all too familiar with.
While commenting about Fulham’s poor away form, their manager said that they were also not comfortable with their poor away form.
Bolton Wanderer’s poor away form is the main cause for which they are sitting a point above then the relegation zone. The last year semi-finalist of Europa Cup are struggling in this season of Premier League. They have managed to bag only 14 points out of
13 matches.
Liverpool
The number one shirt holder of Liverpool, Reina, claims he is completely loyal to his long-term contract at Liverpool and has not told his manager he wishes to leave. A report on Friday had suggested the Spain international, who signed a new six-year contract
towards the end of last season, had expressed his desire to quit Anfield. However, the 28-year-old stressed this was untrue.
The Spanish keeper said that he had not told his boss that he wished to leave Liverpool at any time. He added that it was important for Liverpool fans to know about his long term contract at Anfield. He also said that he was fully committed to The Reds and
would never leave them in near future.
Manchester City
Manchester City’s speedy left winger, Adam Johnson, has self-confessed that he is not happy with his bench role at Eastlands.
Adam Johnson said: "I wouldn't say I was great with it. I am the type of person that wants to play football all the time, so it is hard to watch. I will still do my best and try to get back into the team but it is a little bit frustrating because I started
the season well and my form was really good. But I have still tended to find myself on the bench. Last season I was playing from the start every game and I had the same impact. The game against Liverpool at the beginning of the season was great for me. Now
I have to get my head down now and try to get back into the team."
Adam Johnson’s last start for the Citizens was back in October when he played whole ninety minutes during Europa Cup fixture. Since then, Johnson failed to find first team football.
