Manchester United thrashed Wigan Athletic, while Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea drew their matches, but what does it mean in terms of Fantasy points
The weekend was a great one for Sir Alex Ferguson and his Red Devils and Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur continued their rich vein of form. For the rest of the teams, however, it was a frustrating affair.
There is only one question left and that is how the managers in the Fantasy Premier League fared? Were they celebrating with Sir Alex or moaning alongside Arsene Wenger?
Chelsea 1 – 1 Fulham
Chelsea looked to continue their winning run against a side that always seem to cause them problems, Fulham. Andre Villas-Boas opted to start with former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, a move which many Fantasy Premier League managers did not appreciate.
The match was a tense one, with Fulham’s stand in goal keeper, David Stockdale earning 6-points, which is impressive seeing how he earned 4 of those points by pulling off a total of 12 saves.
Juan Mata got his name on the score sheet for the home side after Torres set him up, which if managers had listened to us when we suggested the talented winger for Gameweek 18, would have been all the happier. At the same time Clint Dempsey bagged a goal
for his side, after a brilliant cross by Bryan Ruiz, by doing what he does best, ending up in the right place at the right time.

Chelsea top point scorers:
Juan Mata – Midfield – 9 points
Fernando Torres – Forward – 5 points

Fulham top point scorers:
Clint Dempsey – Midfield – 9 points
Bryan Ruiz – Forward – 6 points
David Stockdale – Goal Keeper – 6 points

Bolton Wanderers 0 – 2 Newcastle United
It was a sad evening for any Fantasy Premier League manager who had a Bolton player in their side as none managed to earn any significant number of points in a disappointing showing against Alan Pardew’s highflying Newcastle United.
On the other hand, it was a great day for anyone who had Hatem Ben Arfa and Demba Ba in their sides as both players managed to get their names on the score sheet in a convincing display. Gabriel Obertan and defender Ryan Taylor set up a goal each as well.
In the end, the Newcastle back line managed to return a steady stream of 6-points to any managers who were wise enough to have them in their squads.
Newcastle United top point scorers:
Ryan Taylor – Defender – 10 points
Demba Ba – Forward - 9 points
Danny Simpson – Defender – 8 points
Hatem Ben Arfa – Midfielder – 7 points

Liverpool 1 – 1 Blackburn
In what had to be one of the tensest finishes to any of the Premier League matches in gameweek 18, Blackburn Rovers held their luck to ride out a late wave of Liverpool attacks to earn a draw.
Maxi Rodriguez managed to equalise for the home side after midfielder Charlie Adam managed to deflect the ball into the back of his own net for an own goal. Martin Skrtel earned himself a handful of points as well, as the Slovakian international managed
to bag an assist for his troubles
Liverpool top point scorers:
