EPL Review of News - Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Chelsea, Fulham
Blackburn Rovers:
Blackburn Rovers’ manager believes that his Australian midfield magician Emerton has finally returned to his best form following his last year’s cruciate knee ligament injury.
Sam Allardyce praised Brett Emerton's form saying, "Unfortunately, a few games in he picked up the cruciate ligament injury and last season, while fit, psychologically he never seemed quite able to be his normal self. The work rate has always been there
but the quality on the ball was never where it is now. He has been an outstanding individual for us in the last two games particularly. Ever since he came on at Blackpool, he has put in the performances that we have been waiting and looking for. He has gone
from strength to strength since that Blackpool game."
Blackpool:
Ian Holloway believes that his team’s fine start to life in the Barclays Premier League will encourage other players to make a move to Blackpool after struggling to land in many of his top targets during the last transfer window. The Blackpool boss said
that his side already had some good quality players but they were not given many chances.
Holloway stated, "What I'm trying to do is find more and more players who want to come here. I had trouble in the summer, people saying 'How much am I going to get?', but I don't think people will say that anymore, I think they'll say 'Please can I play
for you?' Because they won't think we're going to go down, and they'll want to play this type of football."
Chelsea:
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has played down suggestions that the club are in talks about moving to Earls Court. There are reports that claim that Chelsea are in talks about moving to the site of the current exhibition centre which is just a few miles away
from their current stadium and is to be demolished in 2012.
Buck said, "It is very difficult for us to make the philosophical decision that we are going to move on. Certainly we wouldn't leave West London or thereabouts and there are very few sites available. We have to do things with our other commercial activities
to make up the deficit that is created by the fact we don't have a 60,000 seat stadium. We can't say that we will never move or have a new stadium but at the moment, it's not at the front of our agenda."
Fulham:
Fulham’s new manager Mark Hughes is assertive that Fulham’s long serving goalie will stay at Craven Cottage and sign a new deal. Schwarzer's future has been the subject of speculation for some time now with the Australian unhappy at the club after they blocked
his possible move to Arsenal in the summer. Mark Schwarzer's present contract expires next summer and he has been expected to leave on Bosman transfer.
However, Fulham’s manager believes that his shot-stopper is coming round to the idea of signing a new contract to stay at Craven Cottage. Mark Hughes said that he has been talking to Schwarzer and Fulham fans would soon hear some good news related to their
keeper. He was confident that Schwarzer would go on to stay at Craven Cottage.
