EPL Transfer Update: Manchester City rule out Gianluigi Buffon, instead want Gareth Bale
One club that has been making waves in the transfer market in recent months is Manchester City and this January is no different. After securing the services of Bosnian hotshot Edin Dzeko only last week for 27 million pounds, City are now in the market for
a winger and a goal keeper. The two players linked with the club are Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon and Tottenham’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422.
But, today it was reported in the newspapers that Mancini has now taken a u-turn on his stance and said that his club will never make a move for the Italian veteran goal keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833.
The Italian keeper has been on City’s radar for a couple of years now but now it appears that Mancini is happy with the growth of Joe Hart as the club’s first choice goal keeper. However, it can never be said for sure if Mancini means what he says or it’s
just another tactic that the Italian manager is using.
Mancini was quoted in one Italian newspaper as saying that he sees Buffon as one of the best goal keepers in the world but he has decided for now that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 is the right man for the club at the moment. According to Mancini, Joe has shown tremendous potential
and growth in the past few months.
"We believe so much in him to the point of having sacrificed a great number one like (Shay) Given. Hence, I can categorically say that we will never make any offers for Buffon," continued http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323.
Meanwhile, Manchester City manager has said that he would be interested in signing Tottenham’s electric paced winger Gareth Bale. Mancini believes that the Welshman is the strongest candidate for the leading clubs across Europe. It is estimated that if Tottenham
make him available for sale he can fetch a price of around 40-50 million pounds.
Juventus along with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are also interested in signing the dynamic Welshman who set the world stage alight in the Champions’ League group stages this season with his sparkling performances.
Mancini thinks that it would be a huge leap in quality for the giants from Turin if they are able to lure the winger from London to Turin.
Mancini told the Italian newspaper, "Last year Bale had already proved his value but his career had not yet taken off. Now you would need a lot of money (to sign him). He is a very expensive player. Certainly, Juve with Bale would gain a lot. Moreover, what
is certain is that if Tottenham decides to put him on the market, Bale would be http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/The-Strongest-c40725 target in the summer. Perhaps he (Bale) is the only player who is not a striker that can make a difference. Without him, Tottenham loses 50% of their potential."
Bale is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2014. The club chairman Daniel Levy assured his fans only last month that the 21 year old is not for sale and will not be sold no matter what the offer is on the table.
In developing news from Tottenham’s training ground in London, it is being reported that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 has injured himself only on the second day of training with his new club.
No further details have emerged so far but it was reported earlier in the day that the ex-England captain has been pulling up suggesting that he has been feeling some sort of a muscle strain.
